Omg the rarity! 

Not only the delicate lilac colour, nor the many medallion motifs emblazoning this glorious piece - but the silk on silk suzanis are almost non-existent today!

They are definitely  dying breed. Which leads me to believe this suzani was very specifically made for the celebration of a precious occasion.

Given the rare colour, I'm doubtful it was a wedding. Perhaps, more likely, the birth of a child or children (probably girls)

Which makes me smile so much!
